Danni Li’s Work

My current research focuses on:

1) understanding the heterogeneous and multifactorial biological mechanisms and pathways that contribute to pathogenesis and disease progression of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and AD-related dementias (ADRDs), and

2) precise characterization of mixed pathologies in AD/ADRDs patients using biomarkers for the development of precision and multimodule targeted approach toward AD/ADRDs treatment where specific pathways in the disease process can be targeted in the appropriate people at their best windows of treatment to be most efficacious.

I am analytical chemistry and clinical chemistry by training, with expertise in developing robust proteomics methods based on mass spectrometry and applying them to preclinical, clinical, and epidemiological studies and samples. I also have expertise in bioinformatics and biostatistical proteomics data analyses to identify protein biomarkers in associations with AD/ADRD-related pathophysiology and phenotypes.
