Purpose:

DETERMINE the cause of Alzheimer’s disease
DISCOVER molecular markers that allow for the early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease
DEVELOP safe and affordable therapies that slow or prevent the onset and progression of Alzheimer’s disease
DELIVER and promote best care-practices for brain health and disease management

Approach:

Implement sound scientific methods and collect data through the use of traditional as well as cutting-edge technology
Conduct research using animal models, molecular biology, medicinal chemistry, and clinical trials
Promote a culture of creativity, community, collaboration, and mentorship

Why are we dedicated to this mission?

All of our brains are at risk. Of the top 10 causes of death in America, Alzheimer’s is the only disease that cannot be prevented, cured, or slowed.

Currently, five FDA-approved drugs are available to treat the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease. These medications temporarily mask memory and thinking problems in some people. They do not treat the underlying causes of Alzheimer’s disease, and they do not delay its progression.
