Research

Basic research in Dr. Ashe's laboratory has identified Aß*56 as a specific molecular mediator of Alzheimer's disease. I am currently working with other scientists in the laboratory to develop a protocol for isolating sufficient quantities of Aß*56 from the brains of transgenic mice to supply the needs of the basic scientists in our laboratory and at other institutions.  I am also developing an assay to measure the levels of Aß*56 in the cerebrospinal fluid of human subjects.
